Armenian opposition leader announces motor rally in Vanadzor
Leader of the Tavush for the Motherland movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, who is the only candidate for prime minister from the opposition, has said that there will be a motor rally to Vanadzor on June 8, where a rally will be held.
Galstanyan’s speech is broadcast by local news websites, according to TASS.
“We have an important mission in the coming days. We will visit the Yerablur Military Pantheon. We will go somewhere on June 8. I'll let you know about the route on June 7. Let's gather here, in the yard of St. Anne's Church at 19:00 [GMT+4]. Once again I want to remind you that we will go to the third biggest city of Armenia, Vanadzor on June 8, where we will hold a rally,” Galstanyan said.
Several hundred people took part in the movement’s traditional activity.
The ongoing protests in Armenia started after the information about the agreement reached between Yerevan and Baku on April 19 to start the delimitation of the border with Tavush (Tovuzgala). Galstanyan, who headed the procession from Tavush (Tovuzgala) to Yerevan, called on the prime minister on May 9 to resign.
