Armenian opposition stage protest in Yerevan
Members of the Resistance movement have held a protest rally outside the office of the ruling Civil Contract party, the Police and the National Security Service in the capital Yerevan.
The action was held in protest against the shooting incident in Nigavan village, as a result of which two people were killed and five others were wounded, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
"They shoot to preserve their power. We will not tolerate this," the deputy from the opposition faction Armenia, Aregnaz Manukyan, said before the rally started.
The action ended with a picket outside the National Security Service.
The demonstrators demanded a fair investigation of the "bloody incident involving representatives of the ruling power of Armenia" and the government resignation. The next opposition rally will take place on June 24.
