Armenian orchestra chief, violinist wife make rival violence complaints

Eduard Topchyan, artistic director and principal conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, and his wife, violinist Anush Nikoghosyan, have filed counter-complaints alleging physical violence.

The Armenian Investigative Committee said proceedings based on Nikoghosyan’s complaint had been discontinued, according to Armenian media.

Criminal proceedings have been opened following Topchyan’s complaint, and a forensic medical examination has been ordered. Its findings have not yet been received.

No one has been charged in the case.
