Armenian PM hails productive talks with US Vice President Vance
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes his visit to Washington and his meeting with Vice President JD Vance were successful.
Pashinyan made these remarks in the Armenian parliament, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"Initially, meetings at the White House were not planned, but mutual interest emerged, and we met. I consider the visit and the meeting to be effective," he noted.
In early February 2025, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Washington, D.C., where he participated in a key forum on religious issues. The visit marked a significant diplomatic event for Armenia, with discussions spanning various aspects of bilateral relations between Armenia and the US.
One of the highlights of Pashinyan's visit was an unexpected meeting with US Vice President JD Vance at the White House.
During the meeting, Pashinyan and Vice President Vance discussed various topics, including the strengthening of Armenia-US relations, cooperation on regional issues, and the importance of continued diplomatic engagement.
Pashinyan acknowledged the significance of the visit, stating that it had allowed Armenia to present its viewpoints on global and regional matters directly to key figures in the US government.
His visit also served as an opportunity to address pressing issues surrounding Armenia's role in international relations, particularly in light of its strategic location and relationships with neighbouring countries.
As part of his US trip, Pashinyan also participated in discussions related to religion, where global leaders and diplomats gathered to explore the intersection of faith, politics, and governance. This event further emphasised Armenia’s commitment to fostering global dialogue on religious tolerance and international peace.
