Armenian PM orders dismissal of ex-diplomat's wife amid tensions

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has decided to "retaliate" against his former ally, ex-special envoy Edmon Marukyan, by ordering the dismissal of his wife.

Tatevik Matinyan was the director of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia, which was established in 2023, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The move comes in response to Marukyan's recent statements regarding the government's foreign policy. The leader of the “Enlightened Armenia” party has been an outspoken critic of Pashinyan and his administration in recent times. Edmon Marukyan served as special envoy in Pashinyan's government from March 2022 to February 2024.
