Armenian PM Pashinyan arrives in Rome

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has arrived in Rome, as he announced in a post on his Telegram channel.

The Armenian leader departed for Italy from the Gyumri airport, per Armenian media.

According to earlier Armenian reports, Pashinyan will take part in the canonisation ceremony of Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan and six other saints, to be held on October 19 at St. Peter’s Square and led by Pope Leo XIV.

During his visit, Pashinyan is scheduled to hold a private meeting with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, as well as talks with the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
