Armenian PM promotes his candidates to key positions in parliament
The ruling faction "Civil Contract" intends to nominate MP Armen Khachatryan as a candidate for the post of Deputy Head of the Standing Parliamentary Commission on Defence and Security of Armenia.
It is noted that two candidates were discussed at the meeting of the faction - Khachatryan and Vilen Gabrielyan, Caliber.Az reports referring to the Yerevan-based Hraparak newspaper on July 2.
The majority of those who voted preferred Khachatryan.
The Armenian media remind that Kocharyan's opposition faction "Armenia" nominated MP Artur Ghazinyan for the post of deputy head of the commission on defence and security 14 times.
The parliamentary majority over and over again rejected his candidacy.
After that, the parliamentary opposition announced that it would no longer nominate its own candidate and participate in the meetings of the commission.
