Armenian PM: Russian Foreign Ministry's representative cannot be my interlocutor
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the Russian Foreign Ministry representative cannot be his interlocutor.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media, Pashinyan made the remarks, referring to statements by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
"I don't know which Foreign Ministry representative made this statement, but I know that the Russian Foreign Ministry representative cannot be my interlocutor. The Russian president is my interlocutor and the Russian prime minister is my interlocutor,” Pashinyan noted.
He also added that the foreign ministry representative “of a respected and friendly country like Russia cannot comment on my words, he should just listen to my words”.
Earlier, commenting on the words of the Armenian PM, Zakharova noted that if Armenia intends to withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), it needs to understand all the risks of this decision.
"If this is a figure of speech to lobby for Armenia's position on withdrawal from the CSTO, they need to understand all the dangers," Zakharova said at a press conference.
Previously, Pashinyan said Armenia would leave the CSTO if it deems the organisation "incompetent.”
