Armenian PM's opponent deprives of his job in Yerevan

27 August 2022 15:12

Pashinyan's opponent was deprived of his job in Yerevan.

Former Armenian Ambassador to Poland, ex-governor and former head of the apparatus of the Constitutional Court Edgar Ghazaryan has been dismissed from the State University of Economics of Armenia without explanation.

This was stated by Yerevan State University lecturer and member of the opposition "Unification" initiative Menua Soghomonyan, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.

“One of the faithful servants of the dictatorship, the rector fired Edgar Ghazaryan, a longtime teacher at this university.

This step is a vile manifestation of repression, the persecution of a person for his political views and is aimed at intimidating professors and civil servants who freely express their opinion,” the oppositionist wrote.

He called on university students to organize a protest action against the dismissal of Kazaryan.

Edgar Ghazaryan organized a rally in Yerevan demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on August 23.
