Armenian PM’s partner plans legal action against election monitor
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's partner Anna Hakobyan is preparing to file a lawsuit against election observer and civic activist Daniel Ioannisyan following allegations related to a charity foundation she heads.
Hakobyan, who leads the “My Step” charitable foundation, said she views recent claims about alleged violations as an infringement of her constitutional rights, including her rights as a voter, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
She has instructed her legal team to explore two possible actions: initiating criminal proceedings against Ioannisyan and filing a civil lawsuit against the “Independent Observer” group.
The planned lawsuit seeks compensation for what she describes as damage to the reputation and credibility of the “My Step” foundation, which she says is not linked to Armenia’s ruling party.
Ioannisyan had previously accused the foundation of irregularities and called for accountability regarding Hakobyan’s role in its operations.
