Armenian PM travels to Tehran for Raisi's funeral
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will attend the mourning events for the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials who died in a helicopter crash.
Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media, the press service of the Armenian Cabinet confirmed that Pashinyan has already left for Iran on a working visit to attend the official memorial ceremony.
The helicopter carrying the Iranian President, Foreign Minister, and their entourage crashed on May 19 in the north-western Verzegan region. Alongside the two top officials, the crash also claimed the lives of Malik Rahmati, governor of East Azerbaijan; Ayatollah Mohammad Ali al-Hashemi, leader of Friday prayers in Tabriz; IRGC representative Seyed Mehdi Mousavi; and three crew members.
