Armenian PM, UK minister of state for defence discuss TRIPP, regional peace
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met in Yerevan with a delegation led by UK Minister of State for Defence Vernon Coaker, discussing the TRIPP project and broader regional connectivity initiatives.
The sides discussed issues of regional significance, with Coaker reaffirming the United Kingdom’s support for consolidating the recently established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
He expressed confidence that sustained stability would benefit the wider region.
The officials touched on the TRIPP and “Crossroads of Peace” projects, with Pashinyan noting Armenia’s interest in unblocking regional transport and communication routes in line with principles outlined in the August 8 Washington Declaration. He said the government is seeking to attract international investment to advance these connectivity efforts.
Coaker also met earlier with Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan.
TRIPP, officially the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity," is a proposed transit, infrastructure and connectivity project agreed between Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States following the summit held on August 8, 2025, in Washington.
The aim is to establish a strategic transport‑transit corridor through southern Armenia that connects mainland Azerbaijan with its exclave, Nakhchivan, thus reopening links that were long severed due to decades of conflict between the two countries.
