Armenian police uncover 249 crimes in one week

Between December 30 and January 5, police in Armenia uncovered 249 crimes, according to the press service of the country's Interior Ministry.

During the reported period, authorities solved 15 thefts, 40 cases of bodily harm, 25 incidents involving illegal possession of narcotic substances, and 18 cases of driving without a valid license, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.

Police also recorded five cases each of hooliganism and illegal possession of bladed weapons. In addition, two instances of voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition were registered.

Over the same week, 55 traffic accidents were reported across the country. One person was killed, while 98 others sustained injuries of varying severity.

Law enforcement agencies also solved two previously committed crimes involving misappropriation of property and infliction of bodily harm. Nine individuals who had been on wanted lists were located, while two others turned themselves in voluntarily.

The fate of two people previously reported missing was also established.
