Armenian political analyst: France losing its colonies in Africa How can France protect Armenia?

Armenian political analyst Tigran Kocharyan has said that Russia may be a bad ally, but it is a terrible enemy.

“It is possible to diversify foreign policy, but this does not mean that relations with each other should be aggravated,"Kocharyan said in an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

"Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is at enmity with Russia and creates a problem for the entire country. Pashinyan wants to leave the Collective Security Treaty Organisation [CSTO], but remain in the Eurasian Economic Union [EAEU]. However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s statement was a big blow for Pashinyan, because when Pashinyan said that Armenia would leave the CSTO, but remain in the EAEU, Lavrov retorted. Don't muddy the water, you may have to drink it,” he said.

“Russia may be bad, slow. It does not fulfill its obligations well. It is a bad ally. Why are we taking a step to make enemies with Russia? Russia may be a bad ally, but it is a terrible enemy. Proceeding from the situations in Georgia, Moldova and an ongoing situation in Ukraine, no country escaped hostility with Russia. This is the reaction of big countries,” he noted.

“As for the West, its goal is to eliminate the Russian military presence from Syunik [Zangezur]. However, if Azerbaijan attacks Armenia, if Türkiye enters from this side, what will we do? Who will save us, France? Türkiye and France are NATO member states. Will two NATO member states go to war with each other? France is losing its colonies in Africa today. How will France protect us?
