Armenian premier, Greek defence chief moot closer military cooperation
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias, who is on an official visit to Armenia.
The sides discussed bilateral agenda in the defence sphere, TASS reports citing the press service of the Armenian government.
"Of course, cooperation in the defence sphere between our countries is not something new. In my opinion, we have quite a lot of experience in this area. However, due to the current circumstances, the interest in defence cooperation is growing. It is very important that we have the right political will for solving the problems of today," Pashinyan said.
For his part, the Greek Defence Minister expressed his readiness to assist Armenia, taking into account the historical ties between the two countries. The interlocutors confirmed the steps for further implementation of previously reached agreements and touched upon cooperation in military education and other directions.
The sides exchanged views on the processes in the South Caucasus and steps to ensure peace and stability in the region.
