Armenian president goes on leave for election campaign period
07 May 2026 13:20
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, along with several members of the ruling Civil Contract party who will take part in campaigning, will go on leave during the election campaign period.
The decision was taken ahead of the official start of the electoral campaign, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
In 2018, Pashinyan stated that the Electoral Code does not require government members who are candidates to take leave during the campaign period, and that they could engage in campaigning while continuing to work.
However, in the current situation, he decided to take leave and focus on the election race.
