Armenian Prime Minister declares “liberation of Etchmiadzin” inevitable
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the process of “liberating” the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has begun, is underway, and will inevitably reach its ultimate goal.
He confirmed that the idea of organizing a spiritual gathering in Etchmiadzin’s central square remains under consideration. “We’ll see what happens,” Pashinyan told journalists, Caliber.Az reports.
The prime minister emphasized that articulating such proposals is also part of a broader dialogue with society. As citizens engage with these concepts, they offer alternative ideas and suggestions.
“This is not a static process; it is a flexible process. It’s not that something is approved by a single decision and that’s it,” he said.
Pashinyan further noted that the victory of the ruling Civil Contract party in recent elections in Vagharshapat provides additional momentum for the initiative.
