Armenian prime minister leads delegation on first working visit to Türkiye
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has embarked on his first working visit to Türkiye, leading a delegation of 13 officials.
The visit marks a significant step in diplomatic relations between Armenia and Türkiye with high-level negotiations scheduled between the leaders of the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Pashinyan includes Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Parliament Speaker Ruben Rubinyan, who also serves as the Special Envoy for the normalisation of relations between Yerevan and Ankara—and other key government figures.
According to Armenian media, citing a senior diplomatic source, the visit will focus on discussions surrounding Armenia’s bilateral relations with both Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
A key item on the agenda is said to be the ongoing efforts to reach a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku. Other regional matters are also expected to be raised during the talks.
The visit follows a phone conversation between Pashinyan and Erdoğan on June 5, during which the two leaders exchanged views on Armenian-Turkish relations and regional developments.
