Armenian sappers have started demining the territories of Ashagi Askipara village of Azerbaijan's Gazakh District for the purpose of further delimitation.
A local resident informed Armenian media about the demining works, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the information, 20-25 sappers are now working on the territory.
The eighth meeting on border delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia took place on April 19, 2024. It was chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers Shahin Mustafayev of Azerbaijan and Mher Grigoryan of Armenia.
At the initial stage of the delimitation process, the sides previously agreed on individual sections of the border line stretching directly between the settlements of Baghanis (Armenia) - Baghanis Ayrum (Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Armenia) - Ashagi Askipara (Azerbaijan), Kirants (Armenia) - Kheyrimli (Azerbaijan) and Berkaber (Armenia) - Gizilhajili (Azerbaijan) to bring them into line with the legally valid inter-republican border that existed within the Soviet Union at the moment of its collapse.
