Armenian school officials detained in suspected bribery case

Several school principals in Armenia’s Gegharkunik region have been detained along with the head of the regional administration’s education department in connection with a suspected bribery case, according to the Anti-Corruption Committee.

According to the committee, the head of the education department is suspected of protecting school principals and accepting bribes from them on multiple occasions, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

The case concerns allegations of both giving and receiving bribes, the committee said.

The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations have not yet been proven in court.
