02 March 2026 11:26
The Armenian Prosecutor’s Office is seeking to confiscate $3.1 million and 35 movable and immovable assets from former Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan.
The supervisory authority considers the former official’s assets to have been acquired illegally and has filed a lawsuit, which is now under judicial consideration. According to the claim, in addition to the cash, 26 real estate properties, 7 vehicles, and stakes in 5 legal entities are subject to confiscation.
Levon Mkrtchyan, a member of the Dashnaktsutyun party, served as minister in 1998–1999, 2001–2003, 2006–2008, and 2016–2018.
