Armenian soldier dies in explosion under unclear circumstances

An Armenian contract serviceman was killed in an explosion on September 24 under circumstances that have not yet been established, Armenia’s Defence Ministry said.

Defence Ministry spokesman Aram Torosyan confirmed the death and said the soldier’s family had been notified in accordance with established procedures.

An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances and cause of the incident.

The ministry has not provided further details about the location of the explosion or the circumstances surrounding the serviceman’s death.
