Armenian Speaker urges ex-presidents' supporters to leave politics
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has called on the opposition members to leave politics and give an opportunity for sensible people to work.
“You must leave the political arena and open the way for new opposition members. While occupying the opposition field, you cause the biggest harm to Armenia. You should get out of politics, you have exhausted your agenda, constantly saying the same thing about us,” he said, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
Simonyan urged to give an opportunity for "sensible people" to work for the Civil Contract faction to transfer power to them and leave in case of losing the elections.
The main opposition factions in the Armenian parliament are the Armenia faction of ex-President Robert Kocharyan and I Have the Honour faction of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan.
