Armenian truckers block roads to Georgia over Russian migration restrictions VIDEO
Truck drivers in Armenia have blocked international roads leading to the Georgian border in the areas of Bavra, Bagratashen, and Gogavan, demanding that authorities resolve the issue of migration restrictions with Russia.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, the protest comes in response to amendments to Federal Law No. 115, which took effect on January 1, 2025. The amendments limit the stay of citizens from visa-free countries in Russia to 90 days per year if the purpose of the visit is not listed as “work.”
The protesters stated that they will not allow foreign trucks to pass until a solution is found.
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported the creation of an operational headquarters to collect information on cases related to migration procedures in international transport and to forward it to Russian authorities for prompt resolution.
