Armenian, US defence officials discuss situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan discussed the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Issues Colin Kahl on September 8.

The announcement came from the Armenian Defence Ministry’s press service, Caliber.Az reports, referring to the Armenian media.

The discussions took place as part of the Armenian minister’s visit to the US.

Papikyan and Kahl highlighted the importance of achieving long-term peace and stability in the region, according to the ministry.

In addition, the meeting’s agenda also included the Armenian-American defence cooperation issues.

The parties reached agreements to deepen cooperation in peacekeeping missions, military education, military medicine, and other areas.
