"Armenian youth being sent to front line as cannon fodder for Azerbaijani special forces" General Khachatryan's confession
Former First Deputy Chief of Armenia's Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan harshly criticized in an interview with Hraparak the intention of Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan to replace the three-day training camp with a 25-day one. According to Khachatryan, this is counterproductive.
"What does it mean to send people who have undergone a week's training to the frontline to confront Azerbaijani special forces? There is an expression: cannon fodder. If you want to sacrifice them, then say so directly: we are sacrificing them. Perhaps there is a shortage of personnel, but I would rather attribute it to unprofessionalism. You know, a person may be inexperienced, but they may have logic and knowledge. This approach is just unprofessionalism, which, unfortunately, can have very serious consequences. Simply put, training camp participants are being sent straight to their deaths," said Khachatryan.
