Armenians of Türkiye back opening of borders with Armenia

Public figure Haykaran Karasu, a representative of the Armenian community in Türkiye, has said that Armenians of Türkiye want to open borders with Armenia

"We want the Armenian-Turkish border to be open so that trade and travel across the border will be more convenient", told Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

"This issue should be solved by the state officials of the two countries. We border each other, we are neighbours. Our opinion is that the borders should be open. Then it will be more peaceful. Of course, we have hope for that," Haykaran Karasu said answering questions of Armenian journalists.

Also, he stated that there is no pressure on Armenians in Türkiye.

"Turkish Armenians are now closer to the Turks than before," Karasu said.
