Around 5,000 citizens return to Kazakhstan from Middle East
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, together with relevant authorities, continues efforts to repatriate citizens from the escalation zone in the Middle East, reports Zakon.kz.
“Since the start of the evacuation, with the assistance of resident and non-resident airlines, more than 4,700 Kazakh citizens have returned home,” the foreign ministry stated.
“In addition to flights, citizens are being evacuated by land. On March 6, Kazakh diplomatic missions organised the departure of seven Kazakh citizens, employees of Zarkukh, to the Iran-Armenia border. According to preliminary information, Zarkukh plans to evacuate the remaining 16 citizens along the same route. In total, 66 citizens have already returned from Iran,” the statement said.
Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in the region continue to coordinate actions on the ground and maintain constant contact with citizens.
