Astana airport to adjust operating hours for runway maintenance

Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport (known as Astana International Airport) in Kazakhstan announced scheduled maintenance work on its runway from April 15 to May 31, 2026.

The runway will be temporarily closed daily from 10:00 to 18:00 Astana time during this period, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.

“The work is routine and aimed at maintaining the airfield infrastructure and lighting systems in operational condition, as well as improving flight reliability and safety,” the airport’s press service said.

During the maintenance period, all regular international and domestic flights scheduled within the affected hours will be rescheduled to earlier or later times. The press service noted that all timetable adjustments have been coordinated in advance with airlines and relevant government authorities.

“The airport will continue normal operations outside the temporary closure periods,” the statement added.
