Astana reacts to Russian MFA’s summoning of Kazakh envoy
Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov has said that the comment of his Russian colleague Maria Zakharova about Ukraine’s Ambassador to Astana contradicts the strategic equality of the two states.
Smadiyarov noted that Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry plans to call the Russian ambassador for a talk, TASS reports.
Zakharova recalled how recently Ukraine’s Ambassador to Astana Petro Vrublevsky called for "killing as many Russians as possible", and when the Russian side demanded to expel the diplomat from Kazakhstan, she was "promised" that Vrublevsky would leave the republic forever "in the shortest possible time".
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Russia Yermek Kosherbayev was summoned to the office after Astana failed to fulfil its promises to the Ukrainian Ambassador Petro Vrublevsky.
