Astrakhan schoolchildren take part in Khamenei tribute
In Astrakhan, students from Gymnasium No. 3 participated in a ceremony at the Iranian consulate to honor the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Members of the “Berkut” youth military squad laid flowers, lit candles, and placed stuffed animals in front of a portrait of Khamenei, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The school stated that the students’ participation was intended as a “sign of deep respect for a statesman” and a symbol of support for the Iranian people. The consulate displayed quotes from the Russian president alongside statements from local Muslim clergy condemning what they described as the “terrorist act of the US and the Zionist regime.”
Officials emphasized that “in difficult times, it is important to remain united and share the grief of loss,” framing the children’s involvement in the ceremony as an act of friendship and solidarity with Iran.
