Authorities raid Prosperous Armenia leader’s home amid land dispute probe
Authorities in Yerevan are conducting a search at the residence of oligarch and leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media, Tsarukyan’s lawyer, Emin Khachatryan, confirmed the search.
Khachatryan emphasized that the ongoing criminal case is not directly related to Tsarukyan. “The case was originally opened in 2020 against former officials of the Arinj community,” he explained.
He added that the search is connected to the need for an expert examination of certain land plots, some of which coincide with properties owned by Tsarukyan. “As part of the case, there arose a need to examine certain land plots, some of which overlap with territories owned by Tsarukyan,” Khachatryan said.
No further details on the investigation have been disclosed at this time.
