Ayatollah Larijani urges swift election of new Iranian Supreme Leader

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani stated that the selection of Iran’s new Supreme Leader falls to the Assembly of Experts, which should convene as soon as possible.

He emphasised that, given the current military situation, “as soon as possible” means at the earliest feasible time, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

Previously, the Expediency Discernment Council appointed Ayatollah Alireza Arafi and formed a temporary council including the president and the head of the judiciary.
