Azerbaijan demines 29,000 hectares of area in liberated territories
Azerbaijani engineer troops have cleared from mines and unexploded ordnance over 29,000 hectares of area in liberated lands.
An Azerbaijan Defence Ministry representative Vugar Azizov made the remarks, Report informs.
According to Azizov, engineering troops are currently carrying out intensive demining work in Jabrayil with the use of MEMATT machines purchased in Türkiye, as well as with the participation of ANAMA personnel.
"A total of 23,230 mines and unexploded ordnance have been found and destroyed during the clearance. Two MEMATT demining machines are now operating in Jabrayil. But it is possible that more will be used in the future. The use of demining machines is subject to the contamination of the terrain and its topography,” he added.
