Azerbaijan developing Middle Corridor in line with national interests Presidential aide says / VIDEO
Azerbaijan is advancing the development of the Middle Corridor not to compete with alternative routes but primarily to serve its own national interests, said Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev.
Speaking at a panel session titled “The Middle Corridor: A New Geopolitical and Economic Lifeline?” during the GLOBSEC 2025 forum in Prague, Hajiyev rejected the idea that regional infrastructure initiatives should be seen as rival projects, Caliber.Az reports.

"With regard to the Middle Corridor: we are not in a beauty contest to say the Middle Corridor is one of the best ones. We are doing it, first of all, for our own interest,” he stated.
Highlighting Azerbaijan’s infrastructure investments and connectivity efforts, Hajiyev noted that Baku’s strategic planning benefits not only the country but also European businesses seeking efficient East–West trade routes.
