“The remains of two people were found during the search operations in the territory in the direction of the Bugdadag heights in the Dashkasan district and near the Devedag mountain in the Kalbajar district liberated during the anti-terrorist operation in September 2023,” the Azerbaijani State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People said.
Proceeding from the molecular genetic expertise conducted by the Main Military Medical Department of the Azerbaijani State Security Service, the remains belong to two servicemen who died during the two-day military operations in September 2022.
While demonstrating goodwill and humanism once again, Azerbaijan transferred the remains of the Armenian servicemen to Armenia on June 21 without any third-party intermediaries.
Earlier, Azerbaijan handed over the bodies of 95 more Armenian soldiers killed in the border clashes.
The bodies were handed over to Armenia through the International Red Cross.
Before the delivery, the bodies of 95 Armenian soldiers were examined by the staff of the Azerbaijani prosecutor's office and no traces of violence were found on the bodies.
