Azerbaijan, Iran continue work on implementation of communication memorandum

Azerbaijan and Iran are continuing to implement a memorandum of understanding on establishing communication links between the East Zangazur economic region and Nakhchivan, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizadeh told Trend. 

According to him, a meeting of the joint working groups of Azerbaijan and Iran on the design of bridges to be built on both sides, that is, from Nakhchivan and the East Zangazur economic region, will be held in the near future. 

The ambassador noted that the necessary steps will be taken after the approval of the bridge projects. 

It should be noted that on March 11, 2022, the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed in Baku a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of new communication links between the East Zangazur economic region and the Nakhchivan AR through the territory of Iran.
