During his official visit to Italy, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The sides discussed ways to advance the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy, while also addressing key regional and international issues, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
They highlighted the successful development of bilateral relations and explored opportunities for further expansion across multiple sectors. Education was identified as a cornerstone of Azerbaijani-Italian collaboration, alongside potential cooperation in energy, economy, trade, transport, culture, and defence.
During discussions on regional matters, Minister Bayramov provided an insight into the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the progress achieved following the Washington Summit on August 8. He also underscored opportunities for Italian companies to participate in reconstruction projects in the territories recently liberated by Azerbaijan.
“Highlighting the strategic significance of energy cooperation between the two countries, it was noted that large-scale projects in this sector play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of Europe’s energy supply,” the Ministry said.
The ministers further emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan-Italy cooperation within international organizations, including the European Union and other multilateral platforms. They reviewed opportunities for collaboration within the framework of the World Urban Forum, which is scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan next year.
