Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss deepening military ties in Lachin meeting Photo
Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in the city of Lachin on May 28 to discuss strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence, Hasanov welcomed Munir’s visit and congratulated him on being awarded the rank of Field Marshal — the highest military honour in Pakistan, Caliber.Az reports.
Hasanov emphasised that deepening defence cooperation with "brotherly and friendly Pakistan" remains a priority for Azerbaijani President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Field Marshal Munir thanked his Azerbaijani hosts for the warm reception and hospitality, and underscored the significance of high-level visits in enhancing military collaboration.
The two sides held detailed discussions on expanding joint military exercises, particularly those involving advanced technologies, and exchanged views on future cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
