Azerbaijan and Türkiye established diplomatic relations in January 1992, shortly after Azerbaijan regained independence following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since then, the two countries have maintained close political, economic, and cultural ties, often emphasizing their shared language, history, and strategic interests.
The principle of “One Nation, Two States” has been a cornerstone of their partnership, reflecting deep-rooted mutual support in regional and international matters. Over the past three decades, cooperation has expanded in areas such as trade, energy, defense, and education, reinforcing the bond between the two nations.
