Azerbaijan, Belarus strengthen law enforcement ties PHOTO

16 January 2026 20:29

Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with Belarusian Interior Minister, Police Lieutenant General Ivan Kubrakov, and his delegation on January 16 to discuss bilateral cooperation in law enforcement.

During the meeting, Eyvazov highlighted Azerbaijan’s collaboration with Belarus in combating major forms of transnational organised crime, emphasising that drug trafficking, human trafficking, illegal migration, and cybercrime remain key priorities, Caliber.Az reports via the Interior Ministry.

He noted that effective results in these areas can only be achieved through joint efforts.

In turn, Kubrakov expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart for the warm reception and hospitality.

The ministers exchanged views on a range of mutual interests and concluded the visit by signing a protocol on mutual cooperation.

As part of the official visit, Kubrakov and the delegation paid respects at the Alley of Honour in memory of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at the Victory Monument, commemorating the 44-day Patriotic War and honouring those who lost their lives.
