Azerbaijani MFA: TRIPP framework — important step toward practical work
The publication of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) Implementation Framework is an important step toward launching practical work and ensuring Armenia fulfils its commitments, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Press Service Department Head Aykhan Hajizada said.
“The adoption of the mentioned document, in addition to once again demonstrating the U.S. side’s commitment to the agreements reached within the framework of the Washington Summit on 8 August, is an important step towards starting the practical work in this area,” Hajizada said in response to a media query about the adopted document, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry statement.
He stressed that the document is also significant “in terms of fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Armenia.”
“Ensuring unimpeded connectivity between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is one of the main priorities of our country. The TRIPP route is also important in terms of diversifying trade and connections in the wider region,” he underlined.
The comments came after it was announced that on January 13, during the visit of the Armenian foreign minister to the United States, the TRIPP Implementation Framework document had been made public.
A reminder that TRIPP is an initiative intended to ensure unimpeded transit between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic strengthening regional connectivity across the South Caucasus.
