Azerbaijan plans for hydrogen production, eyes European market competitiveness
Deputy Energy Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Soltanov, announced the country's strategic move towards hydrogen production, revealing plans to develop a comprehensive strategy in this emerging field.
Speaking to journalists, Soltanov highlighted the potential for Azerbaijan's "green hydrogen" to compete in the European market, as outlined in a document presented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Report informs.
"Hydrogen production is at an early stage worldwide. In Azerbaijan, preliminary steps are being taken in this area," stated Soltanov, emphasizing the country's initial foray into this promising sector. "The first reports show that Azerbaijan has serious opportunities in this field," he added.
The EBRD document serves as a blueprint for Azerbaijan's hydrogen strategy, guiding the country towards developing competitive and sustainable hydrogen production methods. Soltanov mentioned plans to collaborate with new consulting firms based on the recommendations of the EBRD report.
