Azerbaijan provides humanitarian aid to Kenyan school for children with special needs
Azerbaijan has provided humanitarian aid to a school for disabled children in Kenya to cover urgent needs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs published details on this charitable investment, Caliber.Az reports.
According to their statement, the government has allocated $20,000 in assistance to the St. Ursula Special School in Vihiga County through the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA).
The funds will be used to meet the urgent social needs of children with disabilities studying and residing at the school, as well as to support the institution’s material and technical requirements.
A ceremony took place on March 7, which was attended by Vihiga County Governor Wilber Ottichilo together with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Kenya, Sultan Hajiyev, Kenya’s First Deputy Minister of Education Beatrice Inyangala, members of parliament, and other officials.
AIDA was established in 2011 under the foreign ministry and aims to support developing countries by assisting in the battle against poverty, providing humanitarian aid and offering energy resources. Since its inception the agency has provided assistance to more than 30 countries worldwide directly, while also cooperating with organizations such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and other donor agencies through the implementation of joint projects.
