Azerbaijan, Russia to discuss Russian peacekeepers’ further activity in Garabagh
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that the future activities of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan will be discussed with Baku.
Peskov was answering the journalists’ question whether Russian peacekeepers will remain in the region, Interfax reports.
As for the relevance of the peace treaty between the two conflicting parties and the possibility of putting an end to the conflict between Baku and Yerevan, Peskov noted that these questions are relevant.
“Of course, there are plans for the development of transport routes and logistics in the region. This is extremely important for Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia. We hope that this work will continue,” he added.
He stressed that the matter rests in a mission that is now on the Azerbaijani territory.
