Azerbaijan's Victory Day celebrated in Ankara with grand concert

09 November 2024 13:20

A spectacular concert was held in Ankara’s Congress Building of the Chamber of Commerce to mark Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Türkiye, the Ahmed Javad Institute of the Nationalist Movement Party, and TURKSOY.

The event was attended by around three thousand guests, including Türkiye’s Ministers of National Defence, Education, and Health, as well as numerous state officials, deputies, high-ranking members of the Turkish Armed Forces, intellectuals, and other distinguished guests, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, the Turkish Foreign Ministry also extended its congratulations to Azerbaijan on State Flag Day. The ministry posted a message on social media platform X, reading, "We congratulate brotherly Azerbaijan on November 9, State Flag Day!"

Azerbaijan celebrates National Flag Day on November 9, a significant event to honour the country’s emblem of independence, unity, and national pride. This year’s celebration holds particular meaning as it marks the fourth consecutive National Flag Day commemorated on territories liberated from occupation.

On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan launched a historic counter-offensive, resulting in the liberation of territories that had been under enemy control for years. Over 44 days, Azerbaijan’s military achieved a series of victories, raising the national flag over each reclaimed settlement.

A further victory followed on September 19, 2023, when Azerbaijan launched anti-terror operations in the Karabakh region, in accordance with the Trilateral Declaration. These operations aimed to ensure the safe return of civilians and secure the area’s reconstruction efforts, resulting in the disarmament of Armenian forces and the swift restoration of Azerbaijan’s constitutional order.

Today, Azerbaijan’s flag flies proudly across the Karabakh region, symbolizing victory, resilience, and the enduring unity of the Azerbaijani people.
