Azerbaijan sets clear demands in investigation of plane crash
Azerbaijan clearly outlines its conditions for uncovering the causes of the recent plane crash involving an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft, according to Aygun Attar, Chairperson of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation, and Solidarity Foundation.
Speaking on Haber Global, Attar emphasized the expectations of the Azerbaijani state and its people for a thorough and transparent investigation, Caliber.Az reports.
Attar highlighted the strong diplomatic ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, which were evident in the assistance provided to those affected by the tragedy. She noted that this solidarity underscores the deep cooperation between the two nations in times of crisis.
However, Attar also pointed out that Azerbaijan is prepared to take necessary measures if Russia fails to acknowledge any evidence of strikes on the plane within its airspace or does not comply with other conditions set by Baku.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, with Azerbaijani authorities expressing their determination to ensure accountability and clarity regarding the incident.
The AZAL passenger plane, operating the Baku-Grozny route, crashed on December 25, 2024, near Aktau. The crash resulted in the deaths of 38 passengers out of the 67 people on board, with 29 survivors. Preliminary reports suggest that external physical and technical factors may have contributed to the crash, though the investigation is ongoing.
