Azerbaijan to hand over Armenian soldier to Yerevan Caliber.Az exclusive report
Armenian serviceman, Eduard Arturovich Martirosov, who was captured by the Azerbaijani border guards on April 23, 2022, will be handed over to the Armenian side soon.
Caliber.Az reports, citing its unnamed sources that, the transfer of the soldier to his homeland will take place in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district through the mediation of the command of the temporary Russian peacekeeping mission in the liberated Azerbaijani lands.
According to the investigation, the Azerbaijani side established that Martirosov was not a saboteur, not involved in crimes against Azerbaijan, and crossed the Azerbaijani border after losing his way.
Caliber.Az assesses the release of the Armenian serviceman as a result of the recent meeting between President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels on May 22.
