Azerbaijan, Türkiye emphasise interreligious dialogue, cooperation
Azerbaijani and Turkish officials have emphasised Baku’s significant attention to intercultural and interreligious dialogue and cooperation in the framework of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations visit to Türkiye.
The delegation, led by Deputy Chairman Gunduz Ismayilov, began its visit on December 25 and will conclude on December 27, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The discussions have focused on the importance of fostering understanding between different religious communities as a key element of Azerbaijan's foreign policy.
During meetings with Igdir Province Governor Ercan Turan and Mufti Zahit Demirel, the delegation discussed Azerbaijan's dedication to strengthening ties between diverse religious groups, not only within the country but also internationally. The delegation emphasised the importance of preserving and promoting multiculturalism as a common heritage that belongs to all of humanity.
The visit also includes discussions in Kars. The delegation includes Agil Shirinov, Rector of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, which is under the jurisdiction of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations, and Vusal Goyushov, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Promotion of Spiritual Values.
