Azerbaijani deputy minister: Zangazur corridor can greatly change regional transport map
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov has said that the opening of the Zangazur Corridor, which may have a great impact on the expansion potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), may greatly change the transport map of the region.
Hummatov made these remarks at the conference entitled "Along the Middle Corridor: Geopolitics, Security and Economics" at the Baku International Sea Trade Port in the presence of well-known professors, researchers and experts from reputable international think tanks, Report informs.
“The Zangazur Corridor, which is the shortest transit corridor, will diversify the transport relations among China, Central Asian and European countries. The Horadiz-Aghband railway line stretching 110.4 kilometres is an integral part of this corridor. Some 40 per cent of the construction work has been completed,” he said.
“The logistics centres and free economic zones are planned to be created to increase the possibilities of the Zangazur corridor in the territories liberated from occupation,” the deputy minister added.
